The Young Achiever Awards acknowledge, encourage and promote the positive achievements of all young people throughout New South Wales and the ACT up to and including 29 years of age.

What types of achievements can people be nominated for?

  • If you know a young person who has:
  • Shown an act of kindness
  • Taken their business or other initiative online
  • Demonstrated innovation
  • Displayed leadership
  • Contributed to their community

Expression of Interest for Aboriginal Career and Leadership Development Program 2022

The Aboriginal Career and Leadership Development Program (ACLDP) facilitates career and leadership development for high potential Aboriginal peoples in the NSW public sector who aspire to leadership roles.

 

The Aboriginal Career and Leadership Development Program has a strong focus on the intersection between Aboriginal leadership and public sector leadership, and equips participants with the capabilities to be effective people managers and leaders. The 12 month program will commence in February 2022. The program starts with the NSW Government Hogan 360 and includes four individual coaching sessions, the opportunity to learn with your peers and with people leaders from other cohorts. It also includes self-directed modules for you to complete at a time that best suits you.

Please note: places are strictly limited and your placement in the program is not guaranteed. Successful nomination into the program will be determined based upon eligibility and merit.

There are 2 streams to the ACLDP, the People Manager Stream for Grades 7/8 – 9/10 (or equivalent) and the Pathway to Senior Executive Stream Grade 11/12 (or equivalent) which prepare participants to transition to senior leadership roles.

Suitable candidates in the People Manager and Pathway to Senior Executive stream include those who are

  • high potential Aboriginal staff who are self-directed, highly motivated and committed 
  • in ongoing employment in substantive roles or minimum 18-month temporary roles from Grades 7/8-9/10 (or equivalent); or
  • in ongoing employment in substantive roles or minimum 18-month temporary 11/12 (or equivalent) roles, and
  • demonstrating leadership capabilities in their current role and want to make a difference in the NSW public sector.

Online YarnUp with the Aboriginal Languages Trust

 

The Aboriginal Languages Trust invites Aboriginal community members to participate in a series of online yarning sessions about language revitalisation in NSW. We’re asking our communities to help guide and inform the work of the Trust.

Their Strategic Plan will set the work to be carried out for communities over the next five years. We invite community members from each region to come, share and tell us how we can support your language aspirations.
