Expression of Interest Open for STEM Camp
The New South Wales Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc. (NSW AECG Inc.), in partnership with the Department of Education's (DOE), Communities Directorate, is organising a STEM Camp for Aboriginal students in Years 10 and 11. We are now inviting DOE schools with Aboriginal students in these year groups to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI). The camp will showcase career paths in STEM, with an emphasis on Marine Science. Students will participate in hands-on workshops at the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS). They will also have the chance to connect with the Gamay Rangers, who will discuss their work in managing natural and cultural resources in Gamay (Botany Bay) and the significance of the cultural knowledge and practice. In the evening, participants will enjoy a tour on Sydney Harbour. The NSW AECG Inc. is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the academic success of Aboriginal students. Our goal is to empower students to become active learners in their education and training, providing them with opportunities to develop STEM-related skills. This camp is designed to inspire and motivate students considering a future in STEM careers.
Schools must submit EOIs on behalf of students wishing to attend the camp. EOIs can be submitted through a Google Forms process.
