NSW AECG Camps
The New South Wales Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc. (NSW AECG), together with the NSW Department of Education’s Aboriginal Education and Communities Directorate, proudly delivers a series of camps for NSW public schools.
These camps give Aboriginal students opportunities to connect with culture, explore new interests, and build skills that support their learning and future pathways.
Schools are invited to apply through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
Camp Programs
Years 5-6: Language and Culture Camps
Years 7-9: Health and Wellbeing Camps
Years 10-12: STEM Camps (with a focus on Marine Science)
Language and Culture Camps
These camps give students the opportunity to learn language, engage in cultural learning, and strengthen their identity and connection to Country. Students take part in hands-on workshops and activities guided by local community members and cultural practitioners.
Health and Wellbeing Camps
Health and Wellbeing Camps encourage students to lead active, healthy lives while learning about careers in sport and health beyond being an athlete. The program supports students to grow their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing in a fun and supportive environment.
STEM Camps
STEM Camps inspire students to explore exciting career pathways in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics - with a special focus on Marine science. Through practical activities and experiences, students learn how culture and science come together in caring for Sea Country.
