Expression of Interest Open for Gomeroi/GYY Language & Culture Camp
The New South Wales Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc. (NSW AECG Inc.), in partnership with the Department of Education's (DoE), Communities Directorate, is organising a Gomeroi/Gamilaraay Yuwaalaraay Yuwaalayaay (GYY) Language and Culture Camp for Aboriginal students in Years 5 - 6.
The camp gives students the opportunity to learn language, engage in cultural activities, and strengthen their identity and connection to Country. Students take part in hands-on workshops and activities guided by local community members and cultural practioners.
Schools must submit EOIs on behalf of students wishing to attend the camp through a Google Forms process.
Target Group: Aboriginal students Years 5 - 6
Date: Wednesday 29th - Friday 31st July 2026
Time: Start time - Wednesday 9am, Finish time - Friday 12:30pm
Venue: Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre
Fitness Camp Road, Keepit NSW 2380
Cost: Free
Supervision: A Teacher MUST attend with students to hold the duty of care for their students.
Meals: Catering provided for all participants free of charge.
Transport: Responsibility of and organised by individual schools. Cost met by schools. If assistance is required with transport, please contact Camps at the NSW AECG Inc. Secretariat.
