Communique - NSW AECG Association Management Committee
The NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group’s Association Management Committee met in Sydney on Monday 8 December 2025. The Association President Ray Ingrey led the Acknowledgement of Country, lighting of the remembrance candle and a minute silence.
Ray Ingrey provided an update on the actions arising from the 2nd State Meeting for 2025 held in Sydney on Friday 14 November 2025.
The AMC was provided with an update on the Partnership Agreement mid point review, the structure of the report, its findings and workshopped the NSW AECGs responses to the findings.
Later in the day the AMC was joined by the NSW Department of Education’s Executive Leadership team, led by Secretary Murat Dizdar. The findings of the mid point review were presented with discussion centred around each organisations response and timing.
Ray Ingrey presented a policy that seeks Management Committee members, throughout all levels of our organisation, to confirm their local Aboriginal community’s recognition of being Aboriginal. The AMC approved the proposed policy by general consensus.
The 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held in Sydney on Thursday 26 March 2026 followed by the 2026 Annual Conference on Friday 27 – Sunday 29 Mach 2026. The Brighton Hotel Sydney (previously Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach) has been confirmed for the venue.
The Association Management Committee was provided an update on the changes to the corporate structure including advice provided by Gilbert and Tobin law firm.
The AMC discussed a request from the NSW Department of Education regarding participating in an Aboriginal Studies Years 11-12 Major Project Competition, was provided update on Stanmore office capital works and closure of the Secretariat over the Christmas and New Years break (12pm Wednesday 24 December 2025 – Monday 5 January 2026).
