45 Years of Weave

A message from Siobhan Bryson, CEO of Weave:

Since then, we have continued to grow and evolve our place-based work in response to community needs. Our work over the last 45 years has centred on connection and empowerment, providing responsive, collaborative and consistent support to create meaningful, lasting change.

Over the years we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside our inspirational communities as they strive for self-determination. We’ve supported many families across generations, and seen the difference that holistic, trauma informed, culturally safe support can make to people’s individual and collective healing. While we are proud to have come this far, we also understand there is still much work to be done. We know that alongside our work with individuals, families and communities, structural change and systemic reform are needed in order to overcome inequalities and the impacts of intergenerational trauma.Weave’s diverse range of programs have been designed to help tackle issues related to poverty, homelessness, domestic violence and abuse, mental health, alcohol and drug misuse, family breakdown, relationship issues, discrimination and the impacts of intergenerational trauma and social and systemic disadvantage. In celebrating this important milestone for Weave, we acknowledge, thank and honour all our staff, our clients, our families, our communities, our Board, our volunteers, our community partners, our financial supporters, our government and philanthropic partners, and everyone who has been part of the Weave journey over the past 45 years. We are sharing 45 key moments from Weave’s history to celebrate #45YearsofWeave. Stay tuned on our social media channels as we reflect on memories, achievements and milestones across our programs and projects.  We need you all more than ever, as we continue our work to empower people to change their lives, and to advocate for a more socially just and equitable society. Please make a donation if you can, to support our work to empower people to change their lives.
